Keeping wardrobe observations flexible

My current project is a clothing inventory, with notes about each item rather than an immediate clearout. I may add a provisional season to the notes, without treating that label as a permanent instruction. Several clothes I like may not match the suggested shades, and that alone would not make me discard them. For understanding the terminology, I am considering a color analysis test as I decide what should go into a practical set of wardrobe notes. It would also help to distinguish something I noticed in person from an assumption based on a photograph, so future changes have a clear reason rather than just a different label. Does it help to store the provisional season separately from factual descriptions of the clothes? I would rather record actual color, condition, and frequency of wear than give each piece a pass or fail. How can I make this useful now while keeping any tentative palette conclusion easy to revise?
