Our library is arranging volunteer portraits, and I have been asked to suggest a background that works with different outfits. Everyone is wearing something they already own, and I would prefer clothing advice that leaves room for individual preferences. We could borrow a blue backdrop, but I am uncertain how much that surrounding color might affect our comparisons. There is time for a small trial with different fabrics, provided we keep the camera and lighting setup consistent. For the separate question of personal clothing colors, I noted color analysis quiz for an initial discussion while we work out the practical portrait arrangements. Should our first comparison use neutral backdrops, or would testing the planned outfits give us more useful information? Any manageable way to compare the options would be welcome, especially one that allows people to keep their own style. We can ask several volunteers to take part in that first comparison.
